I started doing tooth gems because I was bored of what I was doing at the time and no one really did tooth gems ”differently”. The market was non existent in Europe and I didn’t see a lot of Creative sets in the US because the prices are so much higher there.
Q. Well first of all we love seeing what you come up! In terms of colour, design, placement of all your work. It’s so creative and it always brings a different energy.
You work with such a diverse group of people Rappers to club kids. Beautiful teeth and imperfect ones. How does the person you work with (their energy) inform your work? If it does at all ?
Most of the times the client give me their ideas and I just execute it so don't give me credit for all the work! If the client comes with something simple I try to nudge them into doing something bolder because I know they will be back soon wishing they did something more noticeable.
And there’s no such thing as imperfect for me, loads of people tell me they need to ”fix” their teeth before coming but I’m enjoying working with wonky teeth because there’s a bit more to play with.
Q. Where do you get inspiration from? What moves you? I imagine there’s a connection to the world of hip hop
I get inspiration from everywhere and hip hop is definitely a source - it's always been bold and provocative and made a big imprint on today's pop culture. Right now I’m really into vintage jewellery and tribalism so expect some good ol gemstones coming soon!
Q. How do you deal with haters and Karen’s in general ?
‘Karens’ really piss me off! People have no manners and I cant help but get annoyed. Especially when they come for my business with some negativity talking about stuff they don’t even know about. My business is my baby - come for me on your own risk!
Q. When did you find that sweet spot when you thought to yourself ‘You’re killing this now girl’?
My proudest moment was probably when I hit my first thousand followers ngl!! But I knew I made it when I realised I can travel with my work and have clients worldwide waiting for me.
My other proudest moment is when I managed to buy up Keasorn’s crochet shop with the help of my followers!!
